It started with a pile of empty bottles after a college house party. While everyone else saw trash, Subrat Sahu and Heet B — two 1st year BBA students at Jain University — saw something different. They noticed the shape of the glass, the colours, and the labels that carried memories of nights spent with friends. "What if we don't throw these away?" Subrat asked. That single question changed everything.
Armed with a YouTube tutorial, a borrowed glass cutter, and zero budget, the two students started experimenting in their free time. The first 20 attempts? Shattered glass and cut fingers. But attempt #21 was different — a clean-cut Kingfisher bottle turned into a surprisingly beautiful tumbler. They knew they were onto something special.
Friends started asking for custom pieces. Then strangers on Instagram. Subrat would ride his bike collecting bottles from local bars and restaurants around the campus, while Heet perfected the craft — learning fire-polishing techniques and developing their signature smooth-rim finish that makes every glass premium to drink from.
What started as a college project became Bottle Stories — a brand built on the belief that every bottle deserves a second life. Managing their BBA studies alongside their startup, they've transformed thousands of bottles and proved that the best stories are the ones you build from scratch.
